Useful Tips For Bonfire & Fireworks Night!

Is there anything better than spending quality time with the family at an annual Bonfire & Fireworks Event?

Here’s some useful tips to make sure you’re prepared for our fifth consecutive ‘City of Wolverhampton Bonfire & Fireworks Display’ on Saturday 2 November.

1. Wrap up warm

Even though a bonfire night is a fabulous way to get your family and friends together, you have to prepare for the cold and bitter British weather. November is especially chilly, and if you’re not prepared for the odd breeze and cold night then you won’t be able to enjoy the spectacular fireworks we have to offer – no matter how close you get to the bonfire!

2. Planning your journey & parking

Driving to and from a bonfire event can be the least enjoyable part of the evening, but planning your route carefully and making sure there are no road closures, traffic jams or obstructions on the way can make it a little bit less frustrating. Parking is another important part of the night however it can sometimes be difficult to find a safe and convenient place to park your car. We have 2,000 free parking spaces on site which are issued on a first come, first served basis. Our car park opens at 4pm and we expect this to get full very quickly. We recommend that visitors who wish to park offsite to park courteously and avoid parking in residential areas, so those who are and are not attending the bonfire night have a great evening.

3. Finding your spot for the fireworks & enjoy

Once you’ve had a wander around the venue to see what snacks and drinks are available to enjoy, you’ll probably want to make your way over to the centre course to see what else there is on offer. Here, we’ll have an exciting funfair for the kids and rides suitable for all ages, a huge bonfire and some delicious hot food to keep you nice and warm.

After you’ve got your bearings, you’ll want to find a good spot for the fantastic fireworks – even though they’re in the sky. We have two displays for the family to enjoy, one catered especially for children at 6:30pm and our main display at a later time of 8:30pm. When you have found your perfect spot, relax and enjoy!

Tickets for our Bonfire and Fireworks are on sale online or from the Holiday Inn Main Reception desk.
